Equipment

  • Blender
  • Tall Glasses

Ingredients

  • 300 g vanilla ice-cream straight from the freezer
  • 350 ml cold milk whole or semi-skimmed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract good quality
  • Squirty cream optional
  • Glacier cherry to garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Pop the vanilla ice-cream, cold milk, and vanilla extract into your blender. Make sure your ice-cream is nice and firm for that ultimate thick texture.
  • Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is wonderfully smooth and creamy. Keep an eye on it – you want it thick, not watery! If it's too thick, add a tiny splash more milk. If it's not thick enough, a little more ice cream will do the trick.
  • Pour your glorious Thick Vanilla Milkshake into 4 tall, chilled glasses. Chilling the glasses beforehand helps keep your milkshake colder for longer.
  • For that extra touch of indulgence and classic diner charm, top with a generous swirl of squirty cream and a bright red glacier cherry. Then, grab a straw, sit back, and savour every single sip!

Notes

Use the best quality vanilla ice-cream you can find. Chilling your glasses in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving makes a huge difference. Feel free to experiment with caramel sauce, chocolate shavings, or cinnamon.
